Isenberg School of Management faculty at UMass Amherst are again among the most prestigious researchers in the world, according to the Top 2% Scientists List. This annual collection of scholars identifies researchers worldwide who are among the most-cited scientists in their respective fields. (Read about the list here.)

“I’m proud to see so many Isenberg scholars recognized among the top 2% of cited scientists in their fields,” said George Milne, PhD, associate dean of research and PhD programs and the Edward D. Shirley ’78 Endowed Professor of Marketing, who is among the 10 Isenberg faculty named to the list. “While citations are only one way to gauge scholarly influence, this recognition is a powerful affirmation of the intellectual leadership and research excellence at Isenberg.” 

The Isenberg faculty named in this year’s list are:

  • Albert G. Assaf, PhD, the Hadelman Family Faculty Fellow and professor of hospitality and tourism management
  • Melissa Baker, PhD, the Jaime ’76 and Cindy Pereira Faculty Fellow and chair of hospitality and tourism management
  • Janet Fink, PhD, retired associate dean for undergraduate programs, Berthiaume Endowed Professor, former chair of the McCormack Department of Sport Management
  • George Milne, PhD, associate dean of research and PhD programs and the Edward D. Shirley ’78 Endowed Professor of Marketing
  • Anna Nagurney, PhD, the Eugene M. Isenberg Chair in Integrative Studies, PhD coordinator in management science, and professor of operations and information management
  • Irem Onder Neuhofer, PhD, associate professor and PhD program coordinator in hospitality and tourism management
  • Orlando Richard, PhD, the Earl W. Stafford Professor in management
  • Monideepa Tarafdar, PhD, the Charles J. Dockendorff Endowed Professor of Operations and Information Management, and PhD coordinator in information systems
  • Matthew Thomson, PhD, the Charles D. Schewe Faculty Fellow, PhD coordinator, and professor of marketing
  • Muzzo Uysal, Carney Family Endowed Professor of hospitality and tourism management

Uysal was also recognized as among the world’s highly cited researchers in 2025 by Clarivate Plc, a global analytics and data provider. This list, released on Nov. 12, annually recognizes researchers whose contributions have demonstrated broad and significant influence in their fields. Analysts at the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) at Clarivate have recognized 6,868 individuals with 7,131 awards as this year’s Highly Cited Researchers, who rank in the top 1% by citations for their fields and publication year in the Web of Science Core Collection over the past 11 years.
