Over 43% of adults who live in Amherst hold graduate degrees, making for an intellectually rich experience. Another rich experience—dinner. The sidewalks of Amherst are lined with limitless options for grabbing sushi or lingering over a four-course French feast.
Also, UMass Amherst holds the Princeton Review top spot for on-campus dining.
Long home to poets, artists, musicians and academics, Amherst and the surrounding area attracts top-notch arts and entertainment. Catch outstanding performances at venues like the Calvin Theater, the UMass Fine Arts Center, and Jacobs Pillow and Tanglewood Music Center in the Berkshires. Scope out revered works at the Emily Dickenson Museum, the Michelson Gallery, and Mass MoCA. Stay local for the weekend or make a quick trip to see the sights of New York City or Boston.
