Teaching and Research Resources (TRAIN)

The lab features eye tracking, facial expression analysis, and galvanic skin response technology from iMotions, a global leader in human insights software. Made possible through a generous donation from Douglas and Diana Berthaiume in 2023, the lab enables faculty and students to incorporate physiological responses in their behavioral research.

The Isenberg Technology Sandbox is a cutting-edge resource designed to bring immersive learning experiences to life. Equipped with Meta Quest headsets, the Sandbox offers faculty and students access to the latest in augmented and virtual reality technology. These tools have been used to enhance courses with virtual vineyard tours for Hospitality and Tourism Management, prototyping exercises for Entrepreneurship, immersive fan experiences for Sport Management, 3D data visualization, and more.

The Isenberg video production studio is available to all faculty members. Book time in the room via Isenberg’s Room Request form.  The lab is equipped with a production quality camera, lighting, microphone, green screen, and a Wacom tablet.  The setup is straightforward and is designed for ease of learning and operation – essentially a "turn it on and press go" system. Most people benefit from an introductory session with TRAIN.

ISucceed is Isenberg’s professional development program and student success app. The ISucceed student app is run through Suitable and designed to deliver Isenberg events and co-curricular activities to students, successfully launching them as business professionals. ISucceed guides students to career readiness through activities that are based on a subset of the NACE competencies, including Career & Professional Development; Inclusive Leadership; and Technology.  Students earn points, badges and school-wide recognition along the way. 

DataCamp offers a top-ranked up-skilling platform that includes courses, tracks and certifications in python, R, artificial intelligence, data storytelling, Excel, PowerBI, cloud computing, analytics, and beyond where students can have hands-on practice with lessons and projects developed by industry experts.  

Isenberg faculty, staff, and students can access all DataCamp content at no charge by logging in to DataCamp with their UMass NetID and password.

Top Hat is an interactive teaching platform and app designed for higher education, offering tools like real-time quizzes, polls, and homework assignments to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Facilitate active learning in the classroom with this popular tool. Free to all students in Isenberg classes. 

• Isenberg faculty: Login to Top Hat with your NetID and password to create your first course. 
• Connect your Canvas course to Top Hat by enabling Top Hat in the Canvas left-hand navigation and clicking on the Top Hat link.

VirtualSpeech is a learning platform that uses virtual reality to help users improve their public speaking and communication skills through realistic simulations and courses. Using a Meta Quest headset, VirtualSpeech provides a range of scenarios, such as interviews, and presentations, to practice and receive feedback in a safe, immersive environment.

Sona is a research management system used for recruiting, scheduling, and managing participants for research or to fulfill classroom assignments. It provides a web-based interface to schedule sessions and manage participant credits.
