HTM and Management Double Major

The combination of HTM and Management allows me to explore my passions within the hospitality industry through the lens of social entrepreneurship, global management, organizational behavior, and new ventures. The breadth of courses taken as a result of the HTM and Management double major allowed me to find my niche in HTM and sustainable business and have twice the faculty and classmates to enrich my education.

When searching for internships I have found there are more options for me because I have two complementary interests and skill sets in Management and Hospitality and Tourism Management. There are jobs relating to guest experience and customer service across industries and jobs in organizational behavior/ human resource management, sustainability, and new ventures in the hospitality and tourism industry.

In the future I would like to work in sustainability consulting for a hospitality company, or work in eco- tourism. My double major in HTM and Management equipped me with a holistic view of both management and HTM.

As an HTM student the most helpful skill is to come into class smiling and feel gratitude that we get to learn everyday about the biggest industry in the world and how our unique skills and talents fit into the larger picture.

My favorite part of UMass HTM is the community. I feel excited to go to my classes each day because of the passion and excitement my classmates and professors bring to class every day.
