How did you choose Isenberg and UMass Amherst?

I chose UMass Amherst because it had a beautiful campus, great food, and a good business school.

What made you choose management as your major?

I chose my major because I wanted a broad business education, and didn’t know exactly what I was interested in.

What have your favorite classes and experiences at Isenberg been so far?

My favorite experience at Isenberg so far has been as a consultant on the Business Ethics Team. It has provided me with incredible opportunities and taught me so much.

My favorite classes at Isenberg were Introduction to Law and New Venture Organization & Growth.

What clubs and extracurriculars do you participate in?

I am a consultant on the Isenberg Business Ethics Team, where I work with a small team to analyze ethical case studies and conduct legal and policy research to suggest solutions that align with corporate and general ethical standards. Our team presented our proposal to judges in Arizona, outlining how targeted tax incentives and new legislation could attract the lab‑grown meat industry to the state.

Have you had any jobs or internships during college?

I interned in Congressman Jake Auchincloss’s Washington, DC, office, where I supported the press team with research for media appearances and contributed to the overall media strategy. I also drafted legislative memos and recommendations while representing the office by greeting visitors, leading tours, and handling calls. These experiences strengthened my policy research abilities, communication skills, and comfort working in political environments.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

I’m hoping to work on a congressional campaign and expose myself to front line politics.

If you could go back and give your first-year self some advice, what would you tell them?

I would tell myself to get involved sooner and take advantage of everything Isenberg had to offer. I would also tell myself to try and figure out what I wanted sooner rather than later so I could get internships in the relevant field. I would also tell myself to enjoy everything about college because it’s over sooner than you think.

Do you have a mentor from the Isenberg community who has helped shape your experience?

Jennifer Merton supported me throughout my Ethics Team experience, offering guidance that helped me improve my analysis and feel more confident in ethical decision making.
