BBA Application Information for Current UMass Students
Requirements and application information for current UMass students to apply to the Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (BBA) program - Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing and Operations & Information Management
All students must attend an Information Session before applying to the major.
Information Sessions for getting into a BBA major at Isenberg will be held on the following dates:
Wednesday, September 26; 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Isenberg Room 108
Monday, October 29; 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Isenberg Room 108
Academic performance in predictor courses is the heaviest-weighted dimension. Demonstrated success in these courses has proven to be a strong predictor of success in upper-level courses.
Students must complete or have in progress the following number of predictor courses before applying
2nd Semester Freshman - 3 predictor courses (one must be calculus)
1st Semester Sophomore - 4 predictor courses (one must be calculus)
2nd Semester Sophomore - 5 predictor courses (one must be calculus and one must be ACCOUNTG 221)
Junior* - 6 predictor courses (one must be calculus and one must be ACCOUNTG 221)
*Please note that only one of the following may be used for a 6th predictor course: FINANCE 301, MANAGMT 301, MARKETNG 301 or OIM 301
These predictor courses are:
MATH 127: Calculus for the Life and Social Sciences (R2) or a higher level calculus (required to apply)
ECON 103: Introduction to Microeconomics (SB) or RES-ECON 102: Introduction to Resource Economics (SB)
ECON 104: Introduction to Macroeconomics (SB)
ACCOUNTG 221: Principles of Financial Accounting
ACCOUNTG 222: Principles of Managerial Accounting
RES-ECON 212: Introduction to Statistics/Social Sciences (R2) or STATISTC 240: Introduction to Statistics (R2)
The application can be accessed online in November and April.
All applications must be submitted online by 5PM on December 1st or May 1st.
Admission is competitive and requirements vary depending on the level of demand, credentials of each applicant pool and capacity of each class year. Applicants are evaluated primarily on academic performance in the predictor courses, overall academic performance, personal achievement and demonstrated leadership ability. Students with both an overall UMass Amherst GPA and predictor course GPA of at least 3.5 are invited to apply and may be considered for admission.
