Laurie Salame received her BS in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and JD, Cum Laude from Suffolk University Law School. She was a Staff Attorney, Equal Justice Fellow, and AmeriCorps Attorney, at Community Legal Aid. Prior to that she worked for IHG Hotels & Resorts as Front Office/Rooms Manager, Assistant Front Office Manager, Reservations Manager, Assistant Reservations Manager, Mini-Bar Manager, and Management Training/Executive Development Associate, as well as staff positions at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas, Flamingo Las Vegas, and other properties. In addition to her current HTM role, other UMass appointments include Department of Biostatistics & Epidemiology, School of Public Health & Health Sciences, Research Faculty & Expert Advisor 2013-2025; Management Department, Isenberg School of Management Senior Lecturer II, 2023-2025; Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, MS Engineering Management program, College of Engineering, Adjunct Faculty 2023-current; and Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, Lecturer 2009-2012.
