Charlie Johnson

Following a thirty-two-year career as a business lawyer in Boston where he represented over 200 startup and emerging companies as well as venture capital and private equity firms, Charlie Johnson joined the full-time faculty at the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst in September 2015 where he regularly teaches courses on entrepreneurship and business ethics. He has also taught Discovery Seminars at the Honors College on privacy and freedom of speech. Johnson serves the community as managing director and a member of the investment committee for the Maroon Ventures funds. These funds have raised $8.1 million to invest in early-stage companies linked to UMass Amherst. Johnson is a graduate of Trinity College (Hartford) and the University of Virginia School of Law, and reports that he begins each day with Wordle.
