Brian G. Shea

Brian G. Shea, Esq., is a Lecturer in the Department of Management at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst. He holds a JD from Roger Williams University School of Law and a BS in Business Management (Accounting) from Westfield State University. A licensed attorney in Massachusetts and Connecticut and admitted to the federal courts of Massachusetts and the U.S. Tax Court, Shea has more than 25 years of experience across private practice, in-house counsel, and business leadership. He was principal of his own law firm before transitioning to an in-house counsel role in 2019; that employer was later acquired by a private equity firm. He left the company upon accepting a full-time faculty appointment at Isenberg. Shea teaches Business Law, Law for CPAs, and courses on the legal and ethical implications of artificial intelligence, and focuses on translating legal issues into practical guidance for students and organizations.
