Grace Buehler is a recent Isenberg graduate from Blackstone, MA. She’s received a dual degree in marketing and hospitality and tourism management with a certificate in data analytics. During her senior year at Isenberg, she was Co-President of Women in Business, as well as being lead intern for Marketing and Communications. Since graduating, Grace has joined Wayfair on their Commercial Associate Team in Boston.
I chose UMass because of Isenberg—specifically because of all the opportunities I knew it offered. The massive network that Isenberg has is so beneficial to the post-grad experience, and I knew it was important when picking a school. I also wanted the experience of a large university with a smaller college within, to have multiple communities to get to experience.
Dual degree in marketing and hospitality and tourism management, with a certificate in data analytics.
I chose to pursue a dual degree in marketing and HTM with a certificate in data analytics because they allow me to combine my passion for creating memorable customer experiences with my passion for strategic, data-driven decision-making. My initial exposure to hospitality came through DECA in high school, which sparked an interest in the industry. At the same time, through extracurricular projects and past work experience, I discovered a strong interest and skill in marketing, particularly in areas like digital media and analytics, consumer behavior, and brand management. This combination of majors gives me the opportunity to explore both the creative and analytical sides of business, and prepares me to thrive in customer-centric industries where brand experience and strategy go hand in hand.

After graduation, I will be joining Wayfair on their Commercial Associate team in their Boston Office! I am hoping to one day pursue a career in the marketing world, preferably within the branding space located in the Boston/New England area. With all my internship experiences, I am looking forward to starting my professional career and getting to add real impact to companies' marketing campaigns and brands.
If I could go back and give my first-year self some advice, I would probably tell her two things. One, say yes to everything. You never know what will come of each and every opportunity, whether you meet a friend or find an internship, so saying yes to everything and bringing your whole, authentic self will help you soar throughout college and eventually your career. I would also say to never hesitate to ask for help, as every single professor, faculty member, and student is always there to support you!
I don’t believe I have one specific mentor. However, throughout my college career the women on the Isenberg WiB executive board have always been inspirations to me, sharing plenty of wisdom, tips, and advice that has really helped me throughout my experience.
