“One of the best things about UMass and Isenberg is the network of opportunity,” observes Operations Management major Davies DeCesare-Fousek ’16. That includes, he notes, Isenberg’s vibrant alumni network, which “is extremely impressive and has helped open many doors that I didn’t even know existed. Isenberg graduates are proud to hail from Isenberg and committed to making a difference in their professions and community.”

Davies aspires to a career in management consulting that focuses on business process improvement and strategy implementation. While at Isenberg, he has embraced experiential challenges that are positioning him for that career. This summer (2015), he is a Business Advisory Intern with the accounting firm, Grant Thornton. Over the past two summers he thrived in internships with the Boston-based advertising firm, Allen & Gerritsen. As an Analyst Intern a year ago, he analyzed markets and built media analytics reports for several high-profile clients.

Also a minor in computer science and IT, Davies is vice president of development with the student-run Isenberg Undergraduate Consulting Group. “The organization,” he says, “allows us to use what we’ve learned in class to address the operational and technological challenges of local businesses, nonprofits, and registered student organizations on campus.”

Last year, Davies was founder of UMass AdLab, a student-run advertising agency and extension of Isenberg’s Marketing Club. In the fall, the group created and executed a multimarketing campaign for Credit Karma, which offers consumers free web-based tools for managing credit ratings.

All of the above experiences, Davies emphasizes, have added “invaluable” learning opportunities to his Isenberg education. “In my career,” he remarks, “I will never forget where I came from and will always remember to give back.”
