“As a future sports agent, I want to change the dynamic of the agent-athlete relationship,” observes Isenberg Sport Management major Brody Mankus ’15. “My goals are to help rebuild athlete reputations and to use community outreach to enhance their careers,” he says.

With a wealth of classroom and hands-on experiences under his belt, the Isenberg senior is progressing toward a sports agency job after graduation. He currently holds marketing-related internships with two companies. The first, Sports 1 Marketing, promotes high-profile athletes and entertainers, linking them to products and off-the-field activities. The second, Cycling Redefined, is launching an elite road cycling team. In a previous hands-on challenge, Brody was a Rewards Representative with the Boston Red Sox, focusing on season ticket holders.

At Isenberg, Brody is president of his department’s Sport Management Leaders Club, which has organized events like the Western Massachusetts Junior Golf Classic, UMass BuenoBall (an intramural baseball league), and the Mullins Center Spring Hockey League. As a member of Isenberg’s Senior Gift Committee, “we are implementing a giving culture within the senior class,” he says. On- and off-campus challenges like those have helped Brody develop what he considers to be his strongest suits: problem solving and leadership.
