Seven students from the UMass Amherst’s student chapter of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) attended the 88th World Conference on Club Management and Club Business Expo from March 8 to March 12, 2015 in San Antonio. Their faculty advisor, Rod Warnick, also attended.

The Isenberg students participated in the Chapter of the Year Competition, the Chapter Idea Fair and Club of the Future, and a UMass alumni event. Each Isenberg student received multiple job or internship placement interviews and offers. Clubs interviewing the HTM students included Chevy Chase Country Club, the Westchester Country Club, Shinnencock Hills Country Club, Carolina Country Club, Woods Hole Country Club, The Country Club – Brookline, Cherokee Town and Country Club, Farmington Country Club, Lake Toxaway Country Club, Bohemin Club, The Tuxedo Club, Nantucket Yacht Club, Eastward Ho Country Club, Charlotte Country Club, Chartwell Golf and Country Club, and others.

The conference attracted more than 250 students from 45 different universities, who participated in peer networking events and more than 70 education sessions that explored the complex challenges of today’s club management professionals. Students also learned about the latest products and services at a two-day Club Business Expo.

Financial support for the Isenberg students came from the New England Club Managers Association, Isenberg’s HTM department, and the fundraising efforts of the student chapter.
