“There is renewed energy in Isenberg’s PhD program,” exults its director, George Milne. In 2017, the program, he notes, generated 18 graduates, the highest number in its history. (Milne cites records dating from 1984.) “The students,” he continues, “are engaging in research earlier in their careers and continue to refine their teaching skills both in live and online classes. That reflects our commitment to continuously improve teaching and research.”

The students, he adds, are publishing more, in part due to their work with new faculty hires. (Isenberg, he notes, has placed a premium on hiring new faculty members who excel in both teaching and research.) The upshot is that “we are placing our PhD grads in stronger institutions. This year, in fact, we’ve placed 18 of our 19 graduates, 17 of them in tenure track positions.”

The institutions, emphasizes Milne, are academically estimable and geographically diverse. Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Northeastern, Kent State, University of Houston, University of South Carolina, Florida International, City University of Hong Kong, and ten others all reflect those assets. (The complete list appears below.)* And with Milne—an accomplished researcher and professor of marketing—at its helm, Isenberg’s PhD program aims to continue its current trajectory.  This fall it will welcome 19 new students across all nine of its tracks. Students include ten males and nine females.
