Who are you working for and what are you doing?

I worked in East Hartford for Pratt and Whitney, a division on United Technology Corporation. Pratt and Whitney is an aerospace engineering company that makes commercial and military engines. I am currently in the Global Materials and Logistics department, working in the New Programs Group. This group  worked with our international distribution and manufacturing sites to coordinate with Pratt and Whitney’s materials and logistics.

How did you find this opportunity?

I saw that the Isenberg was having a career fair in the early fall, and I looked up the companies that would be attending. I researched Pratt and Whitney and approached them at the fair inquiring about internship positions for the summer and was offered an interview.

What has your experience been like and what have you learned?

I could not have asked for a better experience at Pratt and Whitney. Not only was I  exposed to different elements of the company and business but I was also challenged and grew through the projects I worked on in my group. Pratt and Whitney does a great job of welcoming you into the company and finding you a good fit.

What advice do you have for other students?

I would advise other students to take advantage of all of the opportunities that Isenberg provides. Whether it’s the career fair, interview practice classes, or networking events, they are all extremely helpful and provide applicable practice to the workplace.
