WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

I am working with the NBA in NYC and working in the Global Partnerships Department, specifically in Global Marketing Partnerships.

HOW DID YOU FIND THIS OPPORTUNITY?

I found this opportunity through IsenbergWorks and applied using the link provided.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR EXPERIENC AND WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED?

The experience has been amazing. The NBA takes very good care of their interns and treats us as if we are full-time employees. I've learned so much; from the basics of using Microsoft Outlook and communicating internally vs. externally, to working with partners on-site at big events like the WNBA All-Star Game and the NBA Draft.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR OTHER INTERNS?

Work hard and network. This word "network" is tossed around so often and rarely do people really understand what it is. Reaching out on LinkedIn to alumni or even people whose job you eventually want, setting up a phone call or meeting, and then making a new connection makes all the difference down the line. Secondly, work hard. I was extremely fortunate to land such an amazing opportunity, but it didn't just fall into my lap. I put in tons of long, and sometimes even unpaid, hours to keep adding to my experiences.
