Graduate Program Ambassadors

Becoming a Graduate Program Ambassador offers several valuable benefits. It’s a two-way street where you contribute to your university community while growing personally and professionally! 

• Serving as an ambassador allows you to develop leadership skills. You’ll learn how to communicate effectively, organize events, and represent your program. 

• Ambassadors engage with prospective students, parents, and alumni. This interaction sharpens your communication abilities. 

• Making a difference in someone’s educational journey is fulfilling. You’ll help them choose the right program and feel confident about their choice. 

• Opportunity to network with other students, ambassadors and staff to build professional relationships. 

• Being an ambassador demonstrates your commitment to your program and university. Your efforts won’t go unnoticed: you’ll be awarded a gift at the end of each term. 

• Must have successfully completed at least one semester in the program. 

• Must currently have or have graduated with minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. 

• Must be in good disciplinary standing. 

• Must embody the spirit of Isenberg.    

• Must have been nominated as an ambassador. 

• The ambassador program requires a one-year commitment. For those starting as a student, you can continue as an alum. 

• Depending on ambassador availability and support needs, ambassadors will participate in events and communications adding up to about 2-4 hours a month. 

• Ambassador program requires a mandatory one-hour training at the start of each semester to review duties, expectations, and support needs.  

There are several opportunities for ambassadors that involve representing Isenberg and assisting prospective and incoming graduate students. Ambassadors will work closely with the Director to determine which events they are most interested in and available for.  

• Communication: Engage in frequent communication with prospective and incoming students via email, phone, or Zoom sessions. 

• Recruitment and enrollment events: Promote graduate programs during virtual recruitment and enrollment events to include program specific information sessions, student/alumni panels, admitted student sessions, etc. 

• Career events and panels: Participate in career events and panels to share your experience while simultaneously networking with students, alumni, staff, and faculty.  

• Orientation: Perform assigned duties during virtual or on campus orientation to include panel sessions, campus tours, etc. 

• Graduate School fairs: Assist the Recruitment Team at fairs for recruiting prospective graduate students.  

Remember that while these skills are important, each ambassador brings their unique qualities to the role. The Ambassador Program benefits from a diverse group of individuals who collectively enhance the student experience! 

• Enthusiastic about their studies and experience during their Isenberg Graduate Program.  

• Strong written and verbal communication to accurately and clearly articulate information.  

• Knowledgeable about the Isenberg graduate program that they represent, and the resources provided to students.  

• A friendly and approachable demeanor to help create a positive first impression. 

• Ability to network and collaborate with others to create an inclusive and supportive environment. 

• Possess good time management to ensure they fulfil their commitments.
