This event is organized by the Student Chapter of INFORMS, UMass Amherst, as a part of their Speaker Series. Chaitra Gopalappa is an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering, a joint appointee with the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and the Honors College, UMass Amherst.

In this talk Dr. Gopalappa will discuss her work in developing decision-analyses models under evidence gaps generated by the complexity in disease dynamics. These works will relate to the analyses of the White House U.S. National HIV/AIDS Strategy and the WHO Global Action Plan for Non Communicable Diseases, conducted in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization (WHO).
