The OIM Department is delighted to invite the faculty and doctoral students of Isenberg to join a session of the OIM Distinguished Speaker Series with Dr. Jingjing Zhang, on the subject of “Persistence of Recommender System Induced Biases in Customer Preference Ratings,” on Friday, March 27th, 10:00 – 11:00am in Isenberg room 106.
Jingjing Zhang is the Judith Norman Davis and Kim G. Davis Professor of Business Analytics at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, where she also serves as the Associate Chairperson for the department of Operations and Decision Technologies. Her research sits at the intersection of AI, data analytics, and human behavior, focusing on how algorithmic techniques from computer science and theories from social sciences can address emerging challenges in intelligent systems and personalization technologies. She investigates both the computational and behavioral aspects of these systems, exploring questions about algorithm stability, bias effects on user preferences, impacts of data characteristics on prediction performance, and the longitudinal dynamics of system performance. Dr. Zhang serves as the Senior Editor of Information Systems Research and the Department Editor of AI in Operations, Information Systems, and Supply Chains at Decision Sciences.
