Enrollment Guide for Business Minor Students

As we look ahead to future semesters, we’re excited to support you on your academic journey—especially for those of you preparing to graduate. Below you’ll find important updates about block enrollment, study abroad opportunities, and overall planning for the upcoming semester.

For Spring 2026 Graduates

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! To help keep you on track, graduating business minor students have been block-enrolled into the remaining courses required for completion of the minor.

Because several course options fulfill each requirement, the assigned section may not perfectly match your preferred schedule. Please log into SPIRE and review your spring schedule as soon as possible.

Important Reminders

  • Course conflicts: If a block-enrolled course conflicts with other required classes, you can swap your enrollment starting at the date and time of your enrollment appointment.
  • Trouble enrolling into OIM 301: Contact Bridget McMahon immediately.
  • Missing requirements in your schedule:
    • First, check that your graduation term is correct in SPIRE.
    • If it’s incorrect—or if you’re unsure—contact Bridget McMahon.
  • No longer pursuing the business minor? Be sure to notify Bridget McMahon so your academic record can be updated.

Study Abroad in Barcelona – Fall 2026

Dreaming of a semester in Spain? Business minor students can complete two minor requirements while studying abroad in Barcelona!

If you’re considering this opportunity:

  • Do NOT enroll in MANAGMNT 301 or MARKETNG 301 for Spring 2026.
  • This program runs every fall, making it easy to combine business minor classes, major coursework, and electives while gaining meaningful global experience.

General Spring 2026 Enrollment Planning

If you plan to take business minor courses this spring, you should self-enroll at your designated SPIRE enrollment appointment.

Enrollment Tips

  • Trouble enrolling in a course like OIM 301?
    Complete the request form.
While submission doesn’t guarantee a spot, it does increase your chances—especially since SPIRE may not recognize some of the prerequisite exceptions allowed for business minor students. If approved, you’ll be overridden into the course according to your enrollment appointment time.
  • Need flexible options?
Business minor courses are also available through University+, offering asynchronous online sections at an additional cost. Details can be found in SPIRE, and enrollment steps are available here.
