Professional Wardrobe Support

While the Closet was founded as an ACES initiative at Isenberg, it has since expanded to serve the entire UMass student body. As of spring 2027, operations and management are transitioning fully to the UMass Office of Career Development and Professional Connections.

Check the Closet’s current hours and appointment requirements on Handshake before visiting. Handshake will provide instructions for booking a visit.

Each semester, students can visit the Closet to receive items that build one full outfit (blazer, shirt, pants, shoes, ties, etc.).

Community donations help keep the Closet available to all UMass students. Find more information here about accepted items, donation condition requirements, and where and when donations can be dropped off.

The Closet is a completely free resource built on community donations. Availability and inventory is ever-changing and dependent on donations, but the outfit you build at the Closet is yours to keep!

There are two options for users to engage with the platform

• Rent for 30 days ($60) 
  • Up to 6 items per box
• Purchase to keep ($150) includes elements to create two “looks”
  • 1 foundation piece (suit or dress)
  • 2 layering pieces (shirts, blouses, cardigans)
  • 2 accessories (belt, tie, watch, scarf)
  • 1 small cologne or perfume

All users can schedule a 15-minute individual online session with a stylist to discuss options and make the right choices for you! There is also an AI sizing tool to ensure your options are the perfect fit, or your stylist can assist you with measuring yourself. 

No, access to a stylist can be utilized before you buy! Just click on “Book Now” and then opt to speak to a stylist before selecting a gender option. All digital resources at the bottom of the platform main page are also available without purchase. 

If you wish to purchase any of the items received in a rental box, you can let your stylist or the customer support team know and they will send you the invoice for those items. MyCareerCloset has flat pricing for all items. (“Student” price listings apply to all UMass users.)

If you are unhappy with any of the items you have received (rental or purchase), you can request an exchange by emailing the customer support team (support@mycareercloset.org) and it will be processed right away.

Shipping items back is always free. Every rental box includes a return label. For any purchase box that you wish to return or exchange, the return label will be supplied by MCC at no cost to the school or to you. Simply let the customer support team know, and they will take care of all the logistics.
