We encourage all accounting students to learn more about the Commonwealth Honors College. Requirements for graduating with honors reflect Commonwealth Honors College's commitment to community, academic excellence, and a breadth of knowledge beyond any single discipline.

General Guidelines

Students entering UMass after the spring of 2016 will generally complete a four-year honors curriculum that includes both Breadth of Study and Depth if Study components. The Depth of Study component is usually completed during the junior and senior years and emphasizes deep engagement in the student’s major or two or more areas of academic interest. Please be sure to visit the Commonwealth Honors College website for more information.

Latin Honors is a separate system based on a student’s percentile rank within his/her school or collect. All students are eligible for Latin honors regardless of CHC Membership.

Depth of Study (Advanced Scholarship) Requirements for Accounting Majors

Accounting majors who wish to complete the Depth of Study component (advanced scholarship track) of the Commonwealth Honors College will choose Multidisciplinary Honors. This allows highly motivated honors students the opportunity to propose programs of study outside of accounting or between two or more disciplines.
