Breadth classes are any courses that are NOT business classes or requirements. They are college requirements for BBA students in addition to the University Gen Ed Requirements.

HOW MANY DO I NEED?

Students in the BBA program need 18-21 credits of breadth courses, depending on your entrance term. Check your Academic Requirements Report on SPIRE or your BBA Curriculum Plan located on our Undergrad Plans and Forms page to confirm how many breadth credits you need.

CAN I TAKE BREADTH ABROAD?

Yes! We encourage you to consider this. Isenberg sends more students abroad than any other school or college at UMass.

WHAT ABOUT ECON?

You can either have ONE economics course or ONE resource economics course count towards breadth requirements.

CAN BREADTH BE PASS/FAIL?

Absolutely! You can take one pass/fail course per semester, and it can be a breadth course.
