Breadth classes are any courses that are NOT business classes or requirements. They are college requirements for BBA students in addition to the University Gen Ed Requirements.

HOW MANY DO I NEED?

Students entering spring 2022 or earlier need 21 credits of breadth courses, so between 6-8 classes depending on how many credits each class is worth.

Students entering fall 2022 and after need 18 credits of breadth courses, so between 5-7 classes depending on how many credits each class is worth.

CAN I TAKE BREADTH ABROAD?

Yes! We encourage you to consider this. Isenberg sends more students abroad than any other school or college at UMass.

WHAT ABOUT ECON?

You can either have ONE economics course or ONE resource economics course count towards breadth requirements.

CAN BREADTH BE PASS/FAIL?

Absolutely! You can take one pass/fail course per semester, and it can be a breadth course.
