Through those experiences, however, she discovered that “I could have a greater effect on communities by working in a for-profit setting.” Hence, her move to Isenberg’s MBA program, which, she says, has energized her analytical and collaborative juices.
Isenberg has challenged Hannah’s strategic mettle through a fellowship with the school’s Chase Career Center, in which she led a team of MBA students in developing and implementing a launch plan for a new online career resources platform for Isenberg’s students. Hannah and her team gave special attention to content directed at Isenberg’s MBA students and worked to improve Chase’s outreach to Isenberg alumni.
I gained confidence to pursue future business challenges.Hannah’s summer internship, secured through MBA Associate Dean John Wells and Isenberg alumnus Jim Ettamarna ’97, also made a difference. Working with Blue Ridge Partners, a virtual consulting firm that focuses on revenue acceleration for a national clientele, Hannah gained deep immersion into financial and marketing research and analysis. “It was incredibly energizing, calling for both quantitative and qualitative analysis,” she recalls. “I analyzed client data, including financials; codified and interpreted client surveys and interviews; and contributed to strategies for clients.
“Working in teams with incredibly intelligent consultants, it didn’t feel like an internship,” Hannah continues. “I got to apply skills from my Isenberg coursework and I gained confidence to pursue future business challenges. Moving ahead, I’m looking for professional roles in marketing that balance analytical skills and creativity and collaboration. Isenberg has definitely helped me to position myself in the job market.”
