Preparing Students for Careers

Holly Lawrence

According to Holly Lawrence, the assistant dean for the Office of Career Success and senior lecturer II of the Business Communication program at Isenberg, recruiters who participated in a recent survey gave Isenberg students high marks for career preparedness.

“In addition to career education in the classroom, our recipe includes ongoing engagement with our career center and the availability of 24/7 resources, all designed to give students opportunities for practice, advise them on career pathing, and help them make decisions that prepare them for career success and give them joy and satisfaction,” Lawrence said.

In the end, she and Salva agree, it’s the dedication and diligence of the students themselves that make these results a reality.

“While we are fortunate to count a large number of prestigious employers as formal recruiting partners, we are continually

impressed by the proactive networking and outreach our students undertake on their own to explore and pursue career options

beyond those available with the companies that visit us on campus,” Salva said. “Employers continue to value Isenberg graduates for their strong work ethic and initiative.”
