Class of 2017 is Isenberg's Most Academically Gifted

This week, Isenberg welcomes the most academically accomplished first-year class in its 54-year history. Isenberg's Class of 2017 has high school grade point averages of 3.76 and SAT scores averaging 1246*, the latter four points above the School's previous high. Data also indicate that after being admitted to Isenberg, more students choose Isenberg over other schools--a reflection of our growing national reputation.

"The stature of our freshman class reflects our growing national reputation,"  observes Isenberg's dean, Mark A. Fuller.  In BusinessWeek's current annual survey of undergraduate business school programs, Isenberg ranks 45^th in the nation and 20^th among public universities. In the same survey, Isenberg ranks 23^rd in Recruiter Satisfaction, 13^th among public universities.  Recruiter satisfaction is an indicator of employers' regard for a school's students.

The Class of 2017 hails from diverse backgrounds, 21% are from the ALANA (African, Latino, Asian/Pacific and Native American) population. Reflecting the geographical diversity of its students and its stature as a national leader in its field, Isenberg's Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management draws 53% of its freshman from beyond Massachusetts.

Isenberg's 681 first-year students are members of a university-wide freshman class of 4,600. Isenberg freshmen join a student body that includes Isenberg's 3,200 undergraduate and 1,300 graduate students. They also gain access to Isenberg's influential network of 42,000 alumni in 72 countries.
