Presented by Michael Knodler, Jr., Ph.D. Associate Professor, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
This talk highlights a series of ongoing research activities within the UMass Transportation Center (UMTC) and the Arbella Insurance Human Performance Lab (HPL) that provide the essential link between transportation safety and operations. A primary focus of the talk is the human in loop nature of transportation systems, and how our understanding of human behavior directly impacts traffic safety (e.g., crashes), infrastructure design (e.g., complete streets) and traffic operations (e.g. left turns).

Hosted by the UMass Amherst Student Chapter of informs.
