The McCormack Center for Sport Research and Education is located in the Isenberg School of Management on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The Center's staff is led by Tracy Schoenadel and supported by various faculty members and students from the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management, one of the top Sport Management programs in the world.
The goal of the McCormack Center is to create new knowledge and educational opportunities in the sport industry through alliances with top corporate partners and other industry and academic professionals. The Center attempts to strengthen relationships among members of the industry through outreach activities, training, and education.
Our philosophy is to provide the highest quality market research and educational training to the industry and our students. Recognizing that research and education do not stand alone, we offer exceptional services intertwined with expertise.
The McCormack Center (previously the Center for Spectator Sport Research) was renamed due to the acquisition of a vast archival collection of artifacts by industry pioneer, Mark H. McCormack. The McCormack family supplemented the archival donation with an endowment to further support research and education initiatives through the Center, the Department, the Isenberg School of Management, and UMass Amherst Libraries, where the Collection is housed.
