During the Isenberg Senior Celebration each graduating senior will march with fellow Isenberg seniors to receive a commemorative UMass Amherst medal from Dean, Mark A. Fuller. All graduating seniors of the Isenberg School are invited to attend. Students with a SPIRE graduation date of Fall 2017, Winter 2018, Spring 2018, or Summer 2018 are eligible to participate in commencement activities.
Senior Celebration Schedule - Saturday, May 12, 2018
8:00 a.m. Mullins Center doors open to the public. As you plan your trip to the Mullins Center, please be aware of the security measures in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. All guests will be required to walk through metal detectors when entering the venue. To expedite the process, we ask that guests remove cell phones from their pockets and encourage patrons to avoid bringing bags to the facility. Purses, diaper bags, and other small personal bags are allowed but will be inspected at all entrances. Outside food or beverages, weapons of any kind and tobacco products are not permitted inside the arena. For a full list of prohibited items please visit the Mullins Center website.
9:00 a.m. Isenberg Senior Celebration begins
Following the Welcome each Isenberg senior will be individually recognized on stage and will receive a commemorative UMass Amherst medal. Each student will also be photographed by professional photographers as the medal is received and the student is congratulated.
10:45 a.m. The Isenberg Senior Celebration concludes*
*You should make arrangements prior to the ceremony with your family and friends as to where you will meet. Other celebrations will be taking place on Saturday following our celebration so the area behind the Mullins Center will not be accessible. Students, guests, faculty and staff are asked to gather on the Mullins Plaza (area between the Mullins Center and the Practice Rink). Students and guests are asked to leave the Mullins Center at the conclusion of the ceremony to allow for the next ceremony to begin.
Isenberg Seniors Please arrive in Lot 67 (located behind the Mullins Center) by 8:00 a.m. You will assemble with members of your major. You must arrive in your cap and gown. Caps and gowns will not be available to you at the Mullins Center. You will be able to pick up your cap and gown at the Commencement Fair on Tuesday, May 2nd from noon-4:00pm in the Student Union Ballroom. Graduates can also collect their cap and gown the week leading up to Commencement in the Campus Center, Room 165-69. Click here for more information on collecting your cap and gown.
Family Members & Guests The Mullins Center doors will open to the public at 8:00 a.m. The Isenberg Senior Celebration will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Tickets are not required and any number of guests may attend. Please enter using the main doors located on the north end of the building. You may select any seat in the arena. Large video screens will enable you to see from any seat in the arena your graduate process and receive his or her commemorative medal.
Please note: Balloons are not permitted in the Mullins Center.
Isenberg Merchandise Visit the Isenberg Swag Shop in the North Lobby of the Mullins Center (by sections D and X) from 8:00am-9:30am. The Swag Shop will be closing promptly at 9:30am
Parking Traffic on and around campus will be heavy. Please plan to arrive on campus by 8:00 a.m. Isenberg Seniors and their guests are encouraged to park in lots 25 and 12. These parking lots are located near the Mullins Center. Limited handicapped parking is available at the Mullins Center. For more information about handicapped parking please visit the Accessibility website for the Mullins Center to obtain further information. Shuttle bus service is available on Saturday in the event you are not able to access the lots near the Mullins Center.
We encourage all of our students to also attend the UMass Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 11th, 2018.
