Requirements and application information for current UMass students to transfer into the BS in Hospitality & Tourism Management program.
All students must attend one Hospitality & Tourism Management Information Session before applying to the major.
Information Sessions will be held on the following dates:
Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 5:45 p.m. (Isenberg Room 106)
Monday, April 10, 2017 at 6:15 p.m. (Isenberg Room 108)
Complete three predictor courses from the list below (one must be HT-MGT 100). Students must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 in these courses to be considered for the major but a 3.0 or higher is recommended.
1. HT-MGT 100: Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism Management
2. One of the following:
ECON 103: Introduction to Microeconomics (SB) RES-ECON 102: Introduction to Resource Economics (SB) ECON 104: Introduction to Macroeconomics (SB)
3. One of the following:
MATH 121: Linear Methods & Probability for Business or higher level math STATISTC 111: Elementary Statistics STATISTC 240: Introduction to Statistics RES-ECON 212: Introduction to Statistics for Social Sciences OIM 240: Business Data Analysis (open to Isenberg BBA students only)
Other courses available to non-HTM majors*:
COMPSCI 105: Computer Literacy HTM 260: Human Resource Management in the Hospitality Industry
*Please note that these courses will not be considered predictor courses.
The application can be accessed online in November and April.
All applications must be submitted online by 5PM on December 1st or May 1st.
