Requirements and application information for current UMass students to transfer into the BS in Hospitality & Tourism Management program.
All students must attend one Hospitality & Tourism Management Information Session before applying to the major.
Information Sessions will be held on the following dates:
Wednesday, February 14 @ 4:30pm in Isenberg 108 - Rescheduled from February 7
Tuesday, March 27 @ 3:00pm in Isenberg 137
Complete three predictor courses from the list below (one must be HT-MGT 100). Students must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 in these courses to be considered for the major but a 3.0 or higher is recommended.
1. HT-MGT 100: Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism Management (SB)
2. One of the following:
ECON 103: Introduction to Microeconomics (SB) RES-ECON 102: Introduction to Resource Economics (SB) ECON 104: Introduction to Macroeconomics (SB)
3. One of the following:
MATH 121: Linear Methods & Probability for Business (SB) or higher level math STATISTC 111: Elementary Statistics STATISTC 240: Introduction to Statistics (R2) RES-ECON 212: Introduction to Statistics for Social Sciences (R2) OIM 240: Business Data Analysis (open to Isenberg BBA students only)
The following courses required for the HTM major may be taken by non-HTM majors but they will not satisfy predictor course requirements for the application:
COMPSCI 105: Computer Literacy HT-MGT 260: Human Resource Management in the Hospitality Industry
The application can be accessed online in November and April.
