For students whose degree was not in accounting, the following classes must be taken prior to starting the MS Accounting program.
Financial Accounting Fundamentals
Intermediate Financial Accounting I and II
Strategic Cost management
Note: Class numbers are not provided as they vary by program and level. Course titles may also vary.
These classes can be taken in the Accounting Transitions Program. Completing the Accounting Transitions Program with a 3.0 cumulative GPA grants students a GMAT waiver and admission for the MSA program. A separate application for the MSA is required.
Note for students with non-business degrees:
The courses in the Accounting Transitions Program satisfy the accounting prerequisites necessary for entry into the MS Accounting program. Additional business courses may be required in order to meet the education requirements for the CPA license depending on the state you choose to practice in. Please check Thiswaytocpa.com for a list of requirements by state.
