“In my field, little things can lead to big things,” remarks forensic accounting specialist Lynda Schwartz ’86. A forensic accounting practitioner since the early 1990s, Lynda will teach a two-day colloquium on the subject on July 14-15 in Isenberg’s M.S. in Accounting (MSA) program.

During her two-day visit to Isenberg as McCormack Executive in Residence, Women’s Tennis Association Chairman and CEO Stacey Allaster explored her organization’s growing global footprint, its increasing deployment of technology, and its greater focus on the fan experience. Allaster also recounted a life in tennis dedicated to the advancement of women in the sport.

Student-driven ideas will be the focus at HackUMass at UMass Amherst’s Integrative Learning Center on April 11-12. More than 600 participants, including 70 companies and students from across the region, will take part in the event, which is the Pioneer Valley’s largest hackathon and is hosted by the Isenberg-based Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship.

Todd Bari '94, an assurance partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Boston office, will be honored as Alumnus of the Year at Isenberg's Annual Accounting Awards Banquet on April 16th. Todd, who helps lead the PWC Boston office's Financial Services Assurance practice, will be the event's keynote speaker.
Isenberg undergraduate Rob Flanagan ’16 and his interdisciplinary team, FogKicker, won the top prize in the campus-wide Innovation Challenge on March 31. Other entrepreneurial teams also won prizes at the annual business plan competition.
The Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management honored alumni and students at its Annual Awards Banquet on March 30. Alumni received the department’s VanderZwaag Award and its Alumni on the Rise Award. Twenty-two students earned scholarships.

The second annual Women of Isenberg Conference took place on February 7. Coordinated by the student group Isenberg Women in Business, the day-long event attracted 210 members of the Isenberg community, including 42 alumnae, a dozen Isenberg faculty and staff members, and 150 students.
Debbie Wilson, a nurse formerly on the front lines of Ebola relief in Liberia, spoke in Professor Anna Nagurney’s course, Humanitarian Logistics and Health Care. Wilson discussed the logistical and cultural challenges that arose during her six-week stay in the field.
