Recruiters from diverse industries—hotels, food services, property management, senior living, clubs, and casino gambling—were in force at HTM’s 41st annual Career Day on March 4th. Two to three hundred students attended the daylong event to learn about opportunities at the 74 companies and to network with alumni and company representatives.
The second annual Women of Isenberg Conference took place on February 7. Coordinated by the student group Isenberg Women in Business, the day-long event attracted 210 members of the Isenberg community, including 42 alumnae, a dozen Isenberg faculty and staff members, and 150 students.
On December 4, the campus welcomed the family of the late Gene Isenberg '50, '00H, including his wife Ronnie, their daughter Diane and husband David and their three children Dylan, Carolyn, and Stefan. A tribute was held to honor Gene and Ronnie's leadership and generosity at UMass Amherst and Isenberg.

On October 20, four Hospitality & Tourism Management students received scholarships at the New England Club Managers Association's (NECMA) annual awards Ceremony. Isenberg HTM students also played a key role in the October 7 David Meador Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament, a NECMA-run event that raises money for these student scholarships.
Developed by Isenberg's Director of Internships Kim Figueroa and her colleagues at the school's Chase Career Center, the course "Career and Professional Development," is equipping students with a roadmap for professional development success, giving them a competitive edge in job interviewing, networking, and skills for researching employers and industries.
Hospitality & Tourism Management graduate Laurie Stroll '83 was recently honored with the department's highest alumni accolade, The Stephen E. Elmont Award, at a banquet in Boston. Stroll is president and owner of Newport Hospitality.
On March 5th 2014, several hundred students met with recruiters from 68 companies in the 40th annual Isenberg Hospitality & Tourism Management Career Day. Run like clockwork by Isenberg HTM students, the stylish event featured a central career fair in the Campus Center Auditorium, individual information sessions hosted by recruiting firms, and, at the end of the day, a lavish reception and networking event for recruiters and students in HTM's Marriott Center for Hospitality Management.
The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) at Isenberg in partnership with Marriott International, Inc. introduced high-performing, high-potential HTM students to a unique experiential learning opportunity.
