Clone Online Undergraduate Certificates

Yes, with the following restrictions;

• Only up to 2 courses can be used to meet both the certificate and your major requirements.
• Only up to 2 courses may be taken on campus on a space available basis, Isenberg majors have priority.
• All certificate classes must be taken at UMass Amherst, and for a grade (no pass/fail accepted) with a C or better final grade.
• The online courses are not part of your on-campus tuition and must be paid for separately as you take them.
• The certificate must be completed before you graduate.

Can Isenberg students earn one of these certificates?
These certificates are not for students earning their undergraduate degree from Isenberg. See your current advisor to discuss if you would like to add any of these classes to your current Isenberg plan.

Certificate students are accepted on a rolling basis and directed towards the next applicable semester. Fall generally starts early September, spring late January and summer late May.

Yes, tuition is the same for online courses regardless of state.

Because this is not in a degree granting program, students are not eligible for financial aid. However, you may be eligible for a direct-to-consumer alternative loan. Please visit http://www.umass.edu/umfa/non-degree for more information. 

All of the certificate courses must be taken through the University of Massachusetts Amherst, transfer courses are not accepted.

If you are accepted into a UMass Amherst bachelor degree program you may use the certificate courses towards it.

Yes, classes must be taken for a grade and require a minimum grade of a C or higher. An overall GPA of a 2.0 is required with no more that one course below 2.0.

You will be billed directly by the University Bursar's Office. Billing information will be sent to your UMass email (UMass Email) account. Paper bills will not be generated. The bill can be viewed from a link within SPIRE and paid directly online, or it can be downloaded and mailed with a check. If your employer is paying for your tuition, you may also use Agency or Corporate Billing.

You can find out what course materials will be required by looking at your course in SPIRE, either log in or select Search classes/Catalog to the right of the SPIRE log in information, search for your class by term, subject and mode of instruction and select the section, scroll down to Textbook/Other materials. UMass Amherst uses Books By ECampus.
