This year’s event will take place VIRTUALLY on Wednesday, September 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. using a platform called Career Fair Plus. This platform will allow students and employers to connect via VIDEO in both virtual drop-in rooms and in pre-scheduled, 10-minute meetings. CLICK HERE to view a current list of 73 participating employers.
NEXT STEP: Students must download the Career Fair Plus app, search for UMass Amherst, and then click on Virtual Appointments to complete their profiles. Students are encouraged to upload their resumes as well, as employers will be eager to see them!
On September 16th at 8am, students will be able to log in to the Career Fair Plus app and begin signing up for 1:1 meetings with recruiters that will take place during the career fair event on Sept. 30th. A student's profile must be 100% complete in order to sign up for 1:1 appointments! Also, please note that these meetings are meant to be informational conversations - they are not intended to be interviews.
Students should follow these steps to sign up for appointments in Career Fair Plus:
Select “Employers” in the bottom navigation bar
Select the Company you’d like to schedule an appointment with
Click “View Meetings”
Select the Recruiter you’d like to meet with and reserve a time slot
Select “Virtual Appts.” in the bottom navigation bar to view all of your appointments
Because there will be a limited number of 1:1 meeting slots available, students are asked to read schedule descriptions carefully and only sign up to speak with recruiters if they are a fit with the desired candidate or position requirements.
While students must sign up for 1:1 employer appointments using the iPhone app, they may actually conduct those appointments using a laptop or tablet! Click HERE to view a video with additional details.
Almost all participating employers will be hosting a virtual drop-in room for candidates as well, so this is another way you can get to know an employer; recruiters can host up to 50 individuals in a drop-in room. However, we strongly encourage students to schedule 1:1 appointments whenever possible; this will maximize the networking experience, and will also allow the employer to view their resumes and formally track their interactions with them through the platform.
The following companies will not host drop-in rooms at Isenberg Career Day:
EF Education First
Seaboard Int'l Forest Products
Most importantly, the day before the event, test the platform and live video tool on your devices to make sure they function properly! If you experience any difficulties, you will then have some time to trouble shoot. Students are asked to email email@example.com directly with any technical issues.

UMass/Isenberg will not host any on-campus interviews during the fall 2020 semester - all interviews will take place virtually.
Students are encouraged to regularly access both IsenbergWorks AND Handshaketo apply for jobs, internships, and virtual interviews.
Interview processes and virtual connection instructions will vary by firm, so be sure to monitor your email for specific details. For example, in some cases, the employer will schedule the interview slots on their end, while in others, Chase will handle interview scheduling via IsenbergWorks. However, in every case, the employer will make virtual connection arrangements on their end and communicate those arrangements to interview candidates.
Also note that UMass Career Services and the Chase Career Center are encouraging employers to utilize technological and phone methods to interview job candidates in place of in-person office interviews until Covid19 safety precautions are lifted. This recommendation is in accordance with The UMass Amherst Community Safety Agreement for Students, which supports limiting off-campus travel as much as possible.
Please contact Melissa Salva, Director of Employer Engagement, with any questions about the interview process.
