Tim O’Donoghue
Email: tjodonoghue@umass.edu
Calendly Link: https://calendly.com/tjodonoghue
Bio: I graduated from Earlham College in 2015 with a BA in Environmental Studies, with minors in Economics and Politics. During my four years at Earlham I worked with a local non profit for four years doing city-level advocacy work for folks with developmental/intellectual disabilities. After graduation, I went into the classroom, working initially with autistic children at the 3-5th grade levels, and then continued my work in education at a residential high school in upstate New York.
I am of the mind that our labor is crucial in developing our sense of self and sense of worth- so what does this mean for folks who have historically been barred from, or discriminated against, in the workplace? I intend to continue working for folks with IDD by building a vocational space that allows them to highlight their strengths and build/engage with their local community. I want to use my time at Isenberg to study alternative business models that prioritize the well-being of their employees as well as employ sustainable business practices, to build a space that is equitable, forward thinking, as well as a productive and profitable company.
I spend as much of my time outside as possible, exploring our local mountains. I do my best to leave the country once per year, but Covid has put me way behind schedule!
