Advice & Office Hours: The Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship offers weekly office hours with the BCE MBA fellows throughout the semester for UMass student innovators and entrepreneurs of all levels and academic disciplines. Stop by for venture advice and next steps! All office hours are held in Bartlett Hall, room 301.

Brittany Washum (Second Year)

Bio: Brittany Washum was born and raised in Boston, MA. She attended undergrad at UMass Amherst, where she studied Insects, Soil, & Plant Sciences at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture. Currently, she is an MBA student at the Isenberg School of Business, where her study focuses on entrepreneurship and innovation. Brittany is entering her second year as a Berthiaume MBA Fellow and a Hospitality, Tourism, and Management Teaching Assistant with Professor Salame. This past semester, Brittany partnered up with Cookies, a marijuana brand, and retailer based in California, and secured a marijuana establishment license with Springfield. Brittany is currently going through the application process to get the business up and running. After Brittany graduates, she will be operating the dispensary and working as the general manager. She loves to try out different recipes in the kitchen and explore new trails and hikes throughout the Western Massachusetts region in her free time. She likes to consider herself a chef and thrives in the kitchen! Brittany is looking forward to meeting with student entrepreneurs during office hours!

Cordie Lyon (First Year)
Bio: Cordie Lyon attended undergrad at Harvard University Extension School, where her Liberal Arts studies created a strong foundation for her varied professional career. Experience includes serving as a non-profit Executive Director, project management at Wayfair (Fortune 500), and operations improvement in children’s publishing. Currently, she is an MBA student at the Isenberg School of Management focusing on entrepreneurship; she is particularly interested in agricultural and design businesses. After Cordie graduates, she plans to establish and operate her own business.

Dayo Idowu (Second Year)

Bio: Joining the Berthiaume Center this semester, Dayo Idowu brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience! Dayo holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, a Master’s degree in Information Technology, and is currently an Isenberg MBA Fellow focusing on Business Analytics and Entrepreneurship. Before joining UMass, Dayo had vast experience working in business transformation, focusing on process improvement, process automation, operational excellence, and lean transformation. After graduating, her career interests include management consulting, product management, and entrepreneurship.

James Chang (First Year)
Bio: James Chang has experience developing small businesses and improving consumer-facing models from fitness, healthcare, and compliance-related industries. He graduated from New York University with a degree in English, where he was president of the fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. James is passionate about effective communication, whether it be marketing to the consumer, pitching to an investor, or improving teamwork within an organization. Currently, James is president of the Business Operations and Business Analytics Clubs at Isenberg. Above all, James loves learning and problem-solving.
Jyoti Ahuja (First Year)
Bio: Jyoti Ahuja was born and raised in India and moved to the United States 5 years ago. Jyoti worked at a financial institution as a Risk monitoring analyst. She holds a bachelor's degree in commerce, majoring in finance. Jyoti was first introduced to entrepreneurship through her family owned businesses. She is now pursuing her MBA from the Isenberg School of Management- 1st-year student. After graduating, she will implement the plans for her startup. Jyoti is ambitious and never says NO to any learning opportunity. Jyoti also loves to blog and is a low-key chef.

Moumita Saha (First Year)
Bio: Moumita Saha is a second-year MBA student. She has an IT background and professional experience in System Testing, Business Analysis, and Enterprise Market Research. She worked as a Systems Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services and did her summer internship at Travelers as an Emerging Insights Intern(Data Analysis). She is an advocate of Moral Capitalism.
Naomi Arnold (First Year)

Bio: Naomi is originally from Kansas City. She started her hospitality business management career at the age of 15 in the KCMO area as a bakery apprentice. Naomi obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Business Management and Event Management in 2018. Throughout her time as an undergraduate, Naomi took on many leadership roles in the event industry to successfully plan and execute varying events of 20 people to 2000 people. Following graduation, Naomi began working in the Philadelphia area as a regional retail manager for Aramark and Designer Shoe Warehouse. The Pandemic led Naomi to pursue her MBA at Isenberg, this challenging time pushed her to pivot her career towards consulting and entrepreneurship. Now, as a proud Isenberg MBA, Naomi is focusing on developing her skills and network specifically within the booming cannabis industry. Overall, Naomi is interested in pairing her hospitality foundation with her passion for cannabis industry innovation and cannabis social equity. In her free time Naomi enjoys spending time with her 100 pound Rottweiler, Shirley. Together they spend time enjoying the outdoors, they also love to relax by listening to vinyl records and painting or drawing art. Naomi also enjoys baking with friends.
Patrick Malone (Second Year)
Bio: Patrick is a second-year MBA student at Isenberg, after over seven years with Saint-Gobain, a multinational manufacturer of advanced materials. There, he worked in roles spanning research, product development, and industrial projects. Patrick holds a B.S. in materials science and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Focus: engineering, measurements, market research, results in orientation and presentation, human health, and performance.
Sam Scoppettone (Second Year)

Bio: Sam brings experience as an economic development consultant, nonprofit manager, and city planner and is passionate about social entrepreneurship and the triple bottom line. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental & Urban Studies and a Master's degree in City & Regional Planning. His first work experience was in his family's design and construction business, where he developed an appreciation for making high-quality products. He is particularly interested in real estate, manufacturing and food businesses and helping people and places reach their full potential.
