Isenberg Student Team Excels in National Competition

March 28, 2012

An Isenberg undergraduate student team was one of eight chosen from 32 applicant teams to participate in the prestigious Berg Cup Case Competition on March 23-25 at the University of Pittsburgh. For the national competition, which focuses on business ethics, Daniel Wu, Sudhir Radhakrishna, Mark Spinosa, and Matthew Zolnierz crafted a presentation introducing a new socially responsible investment product for clients of a wealth management firm. The students' opponents included teams from Wharton, the universities of Virginia, North Carolina Chapel Hill, Pittsburgh, Washington University, Loyola University, and the United States Naval Academy. The Isenberg students were heavily praised for their presentation skills and invited to participate in a business simulation following the competition. During this they played the role of an electronic retailer's crisis managers and devised a strategy to address a company data leak of customer credit card information.

The students found the entire experience to be an incredible learning opportunity and felt privileged to represent Isenberg and UMass alongside other prestigious business schools.
