Isenberg HTM Students and Alumnus Honored

Bufalo, JWU; Luke Hartson, UMass; Rebecca Wyskiel, UMass; Stephen
Clapp, UMass; Lauren Garrone, UMass; and Edilson Fiametti, Winchester
Country Club & BU, Metropolitan College
Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) students at
the Isenberg School of Management received four of the seven scholarships
presented by the New England Club Managers Association (NECMA) at its annual
awards ceremony on October 17. The four undergraduates-Lauren Garrone '13, Luke
Hartson '12, Rebecca Wyskiel '13,
and Stephen Clapp '13-all are in HTM's
Club Management track, one of five concentrations that combine business
coursework with industry experience. The four scholarship winners completed
internships at the County Club in Chestnut Hill, Woods Hole Golf Club, the Westchester Country Club, and the Sleepy
Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, New York.
J. Brent TartamellaAt the banquet, Isenberg graduate and General Manager of the Westmoor Club in Nantucket J. Brent Tartamella '94 B.S (HTM) was named NECMA's president. Brent is a long-standing mentor and provider
of internships to Isenberg students. In 2009, he was NECMA's Club Manager of
the Year.
NECMA
has more than 240 members who manage 150+ clubs in New England. It has long
recognized Isenberg student accomplishments through awards and scholarships. It
also works closely with the Isenberg School to provide students with industry
experience through internships, networking, and other hands-on
learning
opportunities.
