Glenn Wong, a professor in Isenberg's Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management, has begun a two-year term as president of the Sports Lawyers Association, a 1,500-member organization devoted to the understanding, advancement, and ethical practice of sports law. Wong now heads the world's largest and leading professional organization of sports lawyers.

Attended by 280 alumni, faculty members, and students, Isenberg's inaugural Business Leadership Awards Dinner on June 17 in Boston celebrated the School's fast-rising reputation and its growing influence in Greater Boston and the nation. The event's honoree and keynote speaker was Ben Cherington '97 M.S., the high-profile general manager of the Boston Red Sox. J.P. Morgan's Alex Ambroz '05 received Isenberg's Young Alumni Award.
"Our aim at Isenberg is to offer our students the best possible tool kit of job search resources and preparation," emphasizes Melissa Salva, Director of Recruiting Operations at the School's Chase Career Center. Taking that advice to heart, Melissa Smith '13 recently deployed LinkedIn and other job-search resources to land her first job after graduation--as an Ecommerce Marketing Assistant with MedPort LLC in Providence.
Isenberg graduates made their mark in ceremonies and celebrations on Commencement weekend, May 9-10. Isenberg graduates included 1,014 seniors, 370 MBA students, and 12 Ph.D. candidates.
Isenberg's annual Awards Banquet on April 29 at the Log Cabin Meeting House in Holyoke was a celebration of stellar students and the generous alumni and friends who helped create scholarships for 190 of them. If you include scholarships awarded at Isenberg's accounting banquet on April 18 and its Mark H. McCormack Sport Management banquet on May 1, Isenberg alumni and friends funded $305,000 in scholarships this year.
