International Study Options
One of the best things that you can do to add to your life experiences while at UMass is participating in one (or more) of our many study abroad options. Students who study abroad consistently describe the experience as life-shaping, and it is something that employers and graduate schools love to see on resumes. You can study for a semester or a year as part of a formal exchange program, or you can take courses that include trips to other countries as part of the class experience.
The Isenberg School offers seven unique short term study abroad options that span four continents. Each of these programs combines class time at UMass with a study abroad experience led by teams of School of Management faculty. During January break students participate in trips to Italy and France/Germany. In the summer students have the opportunity to participate in programs to China, Ireland and Denmark.
Enrollment in these programs is by application. The programs to China, Italy, and Ireland are open to all Isenberg students. The France and Germany program is designed for Isenberg Freshman only. This program spans over fall, winter and spring semesters. Students earn three credits for each of these options.
Isenberg Students who are also in Commonwealth College are eligible to study in Denmark through a joint program with Denmark's International Study Program (DIS). Through this five week program, honors students earn nine credits while completing the Commonwealth College Culminating Experience requirements.
