Isenberg students in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree program may declare one of the School's five majors when they start their first semester*. Upon declaring a major, students will be assigned a faculty advisor within their respective academic department.
*Attention Class of 2018: You are not required to declare your major during your first academic year. Until you declare your major you will continue to receive major declaration information. If you choose to declare your major and change your mind it is very simple to change your major. Just stop by the Isenberg Undergraduate Programs Office in Isenberg 206.
Fall 2015 - Major declaration will began Friday, October 9. The deadline to declare will be Friday, October 16 at 5:00pm.
Spring 2015 - Major declaration will begin Monday, February 23. The deadline to declare will be Friday, February 27 at 5:00pm.
Declaring a Major
If you are uncertain of which major to declare, please utilize the many resources available to you as an Isenberg student. One helpful resource is the Isenberg Industry Insights tool available through the Chase Career Center. You can also schedule an appointment with a Chase advisor.
Students may also find it beneficial to contact the department and request to speak with a faculty advisor.
Ideally, it is best to declare a major by first semester junior year. Students without a declared major may find it difficult to register for upper level courses in the School. Students will not be able to graduate without a declared major.
Mandatory Major Night
Students who declare their major during the Spring 2015 declaration process, will need to attend a mandatory major meeting. Departments will notify students with the details of their respective major night.
Students who declare will have an ADVISING HOLD placed on his/her SPIRE account preventing enrollment for the next semester. Students need to attend the mandatory major meeting for the HOLD to be lifted.
