2013 SENIOR CELEBRATION - FACT SHEET FOR STUDENTS

The Isenberg School's Senior Celebration will be held in the Mullins Center on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 9:00 AM. All graduating seniors of the Isenberg School are invited to attend.  Students should arrive at the Mullins Center at 8:00 AM.

The ceremony will be held on a stage designed to provide maximum visibility for all attendees. Graduating seniors will be seated on comfortable folding chairs on the floor of the Mullins Center. Faculty and honored guests will be seated on the stage. All other guests will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis in the arena. To ensure the best possible seating, we urge that your guests plan to arrive promptly and be seated no later than 8:45 AM.

The seating capacity of the Mullins Center far exceeds our anticipated demand; therefore there is no restriction as to the number of guests any graduate can bring. Tickets for guests are not required.

IMPORTANT:

To ensure a smooth and successful ceremony, it is important that you carefully read and follow the guidelines below.

YOU MUST WEAR YOUR CAP AND GOWN.  CAPS AND GOWNS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE for students who arrive without one.  Caps, gowns, and tassels may be picked up the week before commencement.  Garment pickup will be located in the Campus Center, Room 165, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. starting Monday, May 6th until Thursday, May 9th.  Pickup on Friday, May 10th will be in the same location, with limited hours of operation from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Photographs:

Snapshots are allowed from the guest seating area.  However, aisles cannot be blocked. Please advise your guests to be courteous to other members of the audience by taking a picture, then returning to their seats. Guests are not allowed on the floor of the arena.

Professional photographers will take pictures of each graduate as he or she is recognized on stage. You will be able to purchase these pictures directly from GradImages via their website.  You will be contacted by them with more information after the ceremony.

Processional:

Students and faculty must be ready to process at 8:30 AM. There will be two processional lines entering from the northwest entrance of the arena. You must stay in line and be seated with your major.  You will be seated in the chairs on the floor of the arena.  Ushers will direct you as you process.

Actual Ceremony:

Each major will be announced and the students from that program will rise. You will proceed as directed toward the stage, ascend the ramp, cross the stage when your name is read, and shake hands with the chair of your department. A picture will be taken. You will then walk off the stage and return to your seat.

At the Conclusion:

You should make arrangements prior to the ceremony with your family and friends as where you should meet.  Other celebrations will be taking place on Saturday following our celebration.  Therefore it is important that students and guests leave the Mullins Center as soon as possible.

After the Isenberg Senior Celebration concludes you and your family members may meet the faculty on the Mullins Plaza (located between the main entrance and the ice rink) if you would like.

Parking:

Multiple events in the Mullins Center on Saturday will make traffic and parking delays inevitable.   Please plan to arrive on campus early enough so that you will be at the Mullins Center by 8:00AM.  You and your guests should plan to park in Lots 25 and 12 which are located near the Mullins Center.

This is a day you have worked very hard to achieve. It is our pleasure to honor you with this ceremony. Help us to make it the best possible experience for everyone - students, faculty and our guests by being prompt and following the directions of our many student and staff volunteers.
