EU Politics & Business Honors Program: Denmark

Students in the Program will earn a total of seven credits while completing the Commonwealth College Culminating Experience requirements. There are four integrated components of the Program that provide students with the opportunity to delve into European Union political and business issues. These components include a preparatory seminar at UMass, coursework and travel in Europe under the auspices of the Danish Institute of Study (DIS) Abroad Program, independent but guided research throughout the program, and a culminating symposium to be held at UMass.
The summer program in Copenhagen, Denmark, will begin on May 24 and end on June 20. Denmark’s International Study Program, a renowned study abroad institution and a long-time partner of UMass Amherst will conduct the activities in Denmark and Europe. While in Denmark, students interested in business will take a course entitled “European Business Environment: The EU,” while students interested in political science will take a course entitled “Western European Politics: The European Union (EU).” Students will also participate in course-integrated study tours and comparative field studies in Copenhagen, Denmark and other European countries.
