Joan E. Barr Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2005 by members of the Barr, Milkovich and Pokorak families to honor Joan E. Barr, who was an avid sports fan and a true believer in higher education. This scholarship seeks to assist an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in sport management. Criteria is as follows: Applicant must demonstrate financial need, Demonstrate academic excellence, Applicant must show evidence of making a positive commitment to extracurricular activities.

Garret and Jessica Bedrin Scholarship

Established in 2009 by Sport Management alumnus Garret S. Bedrin, BS '02 and his wife Jessica to assist a deserving undergraduate sport management major. Criteria is as follows:  Applicant must be in good academic standing, Applicant must exhibit financial need, Applicants must be a minority student.

Comcast Internship Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2012 for the purpose of supporting students in financial need while doing an internship for Comcast-Spectator. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must currently be enrolled as a student in Sport Management Masters degree program or a Junior or Senior in the Sport Management Bachelors degree program. Student must demonstrate financial need and have applied to and been accepted as a candidate for an academic-credit approved  internship with one of Comcast-Spectacors properties in Philadelphia, PA.

Eastern League Internship Scholarship

Founded in 2006 by Joseph McEacharn BS '95, his family and the Eastern League of Professional Baseball Clubs to support a student who has secured an internship in minor league baseball. Criteria is as follows: Preference is given to students who have an internship in the Eastern League, Applicant must demonstrate financial need, Must be in good academic standing, Applicant must show evidence of a positive involvement in extracurricular activities.

Erik K. M. Kjeldsen Leadership Scholarship

Established by Dr. Erik K. M. Kjeldsen, Professor emeritus of Sport Management, taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Sport Sociology, History of Sport and Leadership in Sport. He also served as chief undergraduate advisor for 10 years. This award is given to an undergraduate Sport Management major in honor of Dr. Kjeldsen's many years of dedicated service. Criteria is as follows: Applicant must demonstrate financial need, Applicant must show evidence of academic excellence, Applicant shall have demonstrated that he/she has exemplified leadership skills through involvement with specific projects or organizations.

Kristian J. Rose, Jr. Memorial Internship Scholarship

Kristian Rose, a native of New Bedford, MA, was a McCormack Sport Management major who would have graduated with the class of 2012. The summer before entering his senior year, he passed away. This scholarship was established by the Bay State Games and the Association of Diversity in Sport, of which he was a member, in 2011, to honor Kristian and his passion for sports, volunteering, and his community.  Applicant must be significantly involved in community service; Applicant must be a junior or above; Applicant must show evidence of academic excellence; Applicant must show financial need; Preference given to students from Southeastern Massachusetts

McCormack Sport Management Alumni Internship Scholarship

Funded by alumni donations, this annual scholarship supports students pursuing an internship. Criteria as follows: Applicant must demonstrate financial need, Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and exhibit outstanding academic performance, Applicant must demonstrate leadership abilities, Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to extracurricular activities. Applicant must be pursuing a full time internship. Open to Undergraduate or Graduate Students.

Established in 2010 by Sport Management alumnus Gloria Nevarez BS '93 to assist a minority undergraduate sport management major. Criteria as follows: Applicant must be an undergraduate in good academic standing. Applicant must have an internship in the sport industry, Applicant must exhibit financial need, Applicant have minority standing.

Marilyn and Richie Tannenbaum Scholarship

In honor of his parents and their strong work ethic, and in recognition of the Isenberg School's role - especially that of its Sport Management program - in launching his career, ISOM graduate Mike Tannenbaum '91 established this scholarship to reward a student majoring in Sport Management. Criteria is as follows: Applicant must submit an essay explaining they have already garnered a position in the sports industry (either job or internship) paying $300/week or less, Applicant must show evidence of financial need, Applicant must be a citizen of the United States.

Twin Enterprise Scholarship

Established by Robert D'Angelo '77 with his brothers: Mark '81, David '82, Steve '87 and father Arthur D'Angelo, this scholarship supports students who are interested in pursuing an internship or experience with international sports organizations as part of their academic course work.  Since the D'Angelos are advocates of learning by doing they wanted to leave a legacy that would encourage experiential learning.  The four D'Angelo siblings own and operate Twins Enterprise, the premier producer and distributor of professional sports caps and other apparel that grew out of the family's iconic souvenir store on Yawkey Way outside Park.  Criteria as follows: Applicant must demonstrate financial need, Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and exhibit outstanding academic performance, Applicant must provide two recommendations from faculty members in the department.

Harold J. VanderZwaag Memorial Internship Scholarship

Named in memory of former founding faculty member of the Department of Sport Management, Dr. Harold J. VanderZwaag, this scholarship supports students who are pursuing a full time internship.  Criteria as follows: Applicant must demonstrate financial need, Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and exhibit outstanding academic performance, Open to Undergraduate or Graduate Students.

Glenn M. Wong Sport Law Scholarship

Established by friends of Professor Wong to honor his extraordinary teaching career at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Named among the 100 Most Influential Sports Educators by the Institute for International Sport, Dr. Wong's intelligence, leadership and energy is an example for all to follow. The award is for an undergraduate student of academic achievement in the Isenberg School of Management who will pursue a career in law. Criteria is as follows: Applicant must demonstrate financial need, Applicant must show evidence of academic excellence, Evidence of leadership skills. Preference will be given to sport management majors who are interested in Sports Law and intend on applying to law school. (for graduating seniors)
