Degree Requirements

The undergraduate curriculum is designed to create a foundation in economics, business and management so that students can then apply these general principles to the specifics of the sport industry. Students take a core of courses in the Department of Sport Management and the School of Management as well as other departments.

All Students must complete the following courses:

Marketing 301 - Principles of Marketing Finance & Operations

Beyond the core major requirements, students must ALSO complete the following additional major requirements:

General Curriculum Track (9 credits)


SPORTMGT Elective -- Three classes at any level for 3 credits

Total Major Credits = 60


Internship Track (15 CREDITS)


SPORTMGT Elective -- ONE CLASS AT ANY LEVEL FOR 3 CREDITS
SPORTMGT 498Y -- Internship -- 12 Credits

Total Major Credits = 66


Grading Requirements

All courses in the major program must be taken for a letter grade; they cannot be taken pass/fail (except for the internship). Students must achieve an overall 2.0 GPA in their major requirements to graduate from the program.
