Admissions Overview

Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management undergraduate program is highly competitive and a limited number of incoming freshmen, external transfer applicants from other colleges/universities, international students, and on campus transfers are accepted. 

 

INCOMING FRESHMEN
Sport Management admissions criteria for incoming freshmen is based on the academic performance (GPA and SAT or ACT scores) and demonstrated leadership ability of the pool of applicants each year.  Students admissible to UMass Amherst may not be accepted into Sport Management, and instead may be accepted into their second choice major or Undeclared.  A student who is not accepted into Sport Management may apply as an on campus transfer applicant after completing one semester at UMass Amherst.  All information regarding incoming freshmen admissions for Sport Management can be obtained by contacting Undergraduate Admissions.


EXTERNAL TRANSFER
External transfer students from other colleges/universities should contact Undergraduate Admissions for all admissions matters, information regarding course/credit transfer and admission criteria for the Sport Management major.  Students admissible to UMass Amherst may not be accepted into Sport Management, and instead may be accepted into their second choice major or Undeclared.  A student who is not accepted into Sport Management may apply as an on campus transfer applicant after completing one semester at UMass Amherst.


INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management has graduates from various countries, including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, England, Greece, India, Japan, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, and Venezuela.  Admission to Sport Management is restricted and highly competitive.  Students admissible to UMass Amherst may not be accepted into Sport Management, and instead may be accepted into their second choice major or Undeclared.  A student who is not accepted into Sport Management may apply as an on campus transfer applicant after completing one semester at UMass Amherst.  International students should contact Undergraduate Admissions for all admissions matters, information regarding course/credit transfer and admission criteria for the Sport Management major.


CURRENT UMASS AMHERST STUDENTS: ON CAMPUS TRANSFER
