ADMISSIONS OVERVIEW
Admission to the Sport Management major is restricted. The program is highly competitive and a limited number of incoming freshmen, external transfer students from other colleges/universities, and on-campus transfer applicants are accepted. Students who are admitted to UMass Amherst may not necessarily be accepted to the Sport Management major. A student who is not accepted to the Sport Management major may apply as an on-campus transfer applicant after completing two semesters at UMass Amherst On-campus transfer applicants must meet the criteria specified in the Guidelines for On-Campus Sport Management Applicants. INCOMING FRESHMAN
Admission to the Sport Management major is highly selective. Sport Management admissions criteria for incoming freshmen is based on the academic performance (GPA and SAT or ACT test scores) and demonstrated leadership ability of the pool of applicants each year. Students who are admitted to UMass may not necessarily be accepted to the Sport Management major. All admissions matters and information regarding incoming freshmen admissions for Sport Management can be obtained by contacting the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
EXTERNAL TRANSFER STUDENTS
Admission to the UMass Amherst Sport Management major is highly selective. Students who are admitted to UMass may not necessarily be accepted to the Sport Management major. External transfer students from other colleges/universities should contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for all admissions matters, information regarding course transfer, and the criteria for admission to the Sport Management major.
CURRENT UMASS AMHERST STUDENTS: ON CAMPUS TRANSFER APPLICANTS
Current UMass Amherst students, who are not accepted to the Sport Management major as incoming freshmen or external transfer students, are undeclared, or part of another major, may apply to the Sport Management major as an on-campus transfer applicant. On-campus transfer applicants must meet the criteria specified in the Guidelines for On-Campus Sport Management Applicants (PDF).
SPORT MANAGEMENT ORIENTATION TO THE MAJOR INFORMATION SESSIONS: Fall 2009
Attendance at one Sport Management Orientation to the Major Information Session is mandatory for current UMass students looking to apply to the Sport Management major as on-campus transfer applicants. Please see the section, On-Campus Transfer Applicants: Current UMass Amherst Students (above) for further information.
Information Sessions will be held at 5:30pm in ISOM 206 on the following dates:
