Department Head in Sport Management Program since June 1998. Responsibilities include program leadership and development, budgeting, planning, fundraising, and personnel actions. A tenured professor in Sport Management Program teaching undergraduate and graduate sport law courses covering such areas as risk management, tort and contract liability, agency, constitutional law, negotiation, labor relations and antitrust law in professional/amateur sport. Also an Adjunct faculty member in the Labor Studies Department.

LEGAL COUNSEL, DIAMMOND MANAGEMENT GROUP, BOSTON, MA, October 1997 - Present
Founding partner and legal counsel to sports agency representing professional baseball players.

PARTNER AND LEGAL COUNSEL SPORT VENTURES INTERNATIONAL, WEST BROOKFIELD, MA, November 1992 - 1996 Founding partner and legal counsel to sport management firm. Clients included minor league baseball players, college coaches, Canadian Football League players, #1 ranked player on International Racquetball Tour, and the Staples Beantown Pro-Am Basketball League (Boston).

Research Interests:

Professor Masteralexis’ primary research interests are in legal issues and labor relations in the sport industry. She has served as a legal consultant to the professional athlete management firm, the Women’s Sports Foundation, and the local school districts. Prof. Masteralexis has recently served as lead editor for the introductory text on Sport Management, Principles and Practice of Sport Management (1998).
