- Once matriculated/officially admitted into the program, you will be provided with both UMass Amherst email (UMail) and SPIRE accounts and receive UMassOnline access to log-on to your classes.
- The username for these three platforms
will be the same; known as your NetID. The Office of Information
Technology/OIT will send new students your NetID, SPIRE ID and temporary
password in two separate emails. The first email includes your NetID and SPIRE
ID. The SPIRE ID is your permanent UMA
identification number. The second email
includes your temporary password, which will be the same password for your
SPIRE and UMail accounts.
- YOU MUST activate these accounts. Go to SPIRE, click 'Activate Your Account' on the right side of the screen.
You may receive emails from email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com, you will receive emails from firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com.
Please ensure that these addresses are not spam-blocked, so that you receive important information.
