Two Publishing Awards to Hospitality & Tourism Management Professor

Prof. Albert AssafAlbert Assaf, an
assistant professor in Isenberg's Department of Hospitality & Tourism
Management (HTM), is the recipient of two awards for outstanding journal
articles. His paper, "The Operational Performance
of UK Airlines - 2002-2007," which appeared in the Journal of Economic Studies, was an Outstanding
Paper Award Winner at the 2012 Emerald Literati Network Awards for
Excellence. The network
is associated with Emerald Publishing Group, a scholarly publisher of academic
journals in management, education, health care, and other fields.
Dr. Assaf and two coauthors also received honors for their paper, "Efficiency Determinants in Retail Stores: a Bayesian Framework," which appeared in OMEGA: The International Journal of Management Science. The article was deemed best retail paper in 2011 by a Spanish researcher--both by AEMARK (the Spanish Marketing Academy) and by ASEDAS, a Spanish supermarket association.
