March 26, 2013
Two graduates of Isenberg's Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management--Amy Gleeson '98 M.S. and Woodie Dixon '04 M.S.--have been named to Sports Business Journal's 2013 Forty Under 40. The annual distinction honors the "best and the brightest" movers and shakers under age 40 in the sports management industry.
For last summer's Olympic Games in London, Amy Gleeson, Senior Business Leader with Visa Inc.'s Olympics marketing team, coordinated her firm's "Go World" marketing campaign, involving 70 markets, 25 marketing leaders, and five marketing agencies. In her 15-month role, Amy interacted with 15 markets daily involving athletes and creative initiatives. She helped manage Visa's incubation of 10 original creative spots with 75 adaptations, and worked with Facebook and Google on a social media application that ran in 36 countries.
Woodie Dixon is lead counsel with the Pacific-12 Conference (Pac-12). In his expanding role, Dixon, also a graduate of Harvard Law School, oversees football and helps manage the Pac-12's new TV network, as well as the conference's broadcast agreement with joint partners ESPN and FOX. Woodie describes his job as "a constant whirlwind of activity. . . a much more diverse and dynamic space than I thought it would be."
